Dear Friend:

On March 1 - May 31, 2011, YAABA: Reaching out to Africa will hold its first annual Return to Africa fundraiser drive. YAABA, a non-profit 501 (C) 3 organization was formed in 2008 by a group of African Descendants in South Carolina.  Our purpose is to assist Africans in continental Africa. Our vision is to bring assistance to Africa while forming strong global bonds, particularly one that benefit the American and Ghanaian youth.

YAABA has been diligently working on the development of several projects.  The first is the
Books For Our Children Project.  Over the last few years, we amassed 15,000 high quality text books for the impoverished middle and high school students in Eastern Ghana.  Sea containers costing $8,000.00 each are needed to get this shipment of books to the children.

Plans for YAABA’s Inter-Continental Business Training Program for African American youth have just been released.  This dynamic program sets African American youth ages 14 - 20 in a business environment in Ghana where they are trained in fundamental
entrepreneurial skills. The focus on program is developing leadership skills with an emphasis on international business development.

YAABA’s other projects include support of several schools and an orphanage in Eastern Ghana, providing them with needed educational materials such as books, computers,
furniture and Braille supplies.  We are also working closely with a medical center in dire need of medical supplies and equipment.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 by May 31. Your donation can make this happen.  We have three levels of sponsorship: Gold-$1,000, Silver-$500, or Ivory-$250, but anything that you can give will make a valuable difference. Send all of your tax deductible donations to:
